Psychological Support

At ENILION, we recognize that health is not limited to physical condition. Mental well-being is an equally important pillar for a quality life in older age. For this reason, we have integrated into our philosophy a comprehensive and sensitive Psychological Support, which is aimed at both our residents and their families.

Adapting to a new way of life, coping with loss, loneliness, or feelings of limitation are conditions that often accompany old age. With scientific knowledge, empathy, and personalized care, we support our elderly to feel accepted, safe, and psychologically empowered.

The Role of Psychological Care in Old Age

Psychological support helps elderly individuals to:

  • Manage emotional transitions

  • Cope with loss (of a partner, independence, home)

  • Cultivate self-esteem and a sense of purpose

  • Maintain cognitive alertness

  • Build trusting relationships with staff and fellow residents

  • Maintain bonds with their family and social network

Psychological well-being is closely linked to physical health. An elderly person in a positive mood and good mental state responds better to medical treatments, avoids isolation, and actively participates in the life of the Facility.

Our Services

The ENILION Psychological Support Program includes:

1. Individual Psychological Support Sessions

Following assessment, residents have access to individual sessions with a certified psychologist, where they can safely and confidentially discuss personal issues, concerns, expectations, or emotions they wish to address. The sessions focus on self-acceptance, building emotional resilience, and improving daily mood.

2. Group Psychosocial Empowerment Programs

Group activities enhance socialization, creativity, and a sense of belonging. They include:

Group discussions for positive reinforcement

Therapeutic activities involving music, art, and storytelling

Thematic circles such as “Coping with Loneliness” or “The Value of My Life”

These group programs are conducted in small groups, aiming to promote active participation, joyful communication, and a sense of connection.

3. Family & Relatives Support

Psychological support is extended to the family. Informative meetings and guidance help with adjusting to the new situation, and emotional support for family members is often essential, especially during the early stages of residency. Collaboration with loved ones is the foundation for creating a stable and supportive care environment.

Adapted to Each Individual’s Needs

Every resident is unique. Our services are individually scheduled, based on personality, history, preferences, and each person's psycho-emotional needs. We apply techniques from:

  • Supportive psychotherapy

  • Cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT)

  • Art therapy

  • Music therapy

  • Psychoeducation

Monitoring is continuous, while the team remains in collaboration with nursing and medical staff for comprehensive care.

The Environment Makes the Difference

The atmosphere at ENILION promotes mental well-being. The well-maintained shared spaces, natural light, courtyards, opportunities for participating in activities, and the human relationships that are cultivated form the foundation upon which psychological empowerment is developed.
